This whole day CPD session is for early years practitioners from all settings. Sharing inspirational practice from throughout the East of England, you will learn effective activities and approaches that bring the wider world into everyday learning, from babies to pre-school children.
We will share resources and case studies which demonstrate the many ways in which it is possible to provide a vibrant and creative learning environment which enables an accurate understanding of the wider world whilst nurturing young children who value themselves, their environment and others in their local and global community. Cost: £70.

SEAL and the Global Dimension CPD
Monday 5th March 2012 (Suffolk)

The Social and Emotional Aspects to Learning (SEAL) framework provides ideal opportunities for engaging pupils of all ages in global and development issues. This whole day CPD session provides an introduction to the national SEAL and the Global Dimension Project  which incorporates a range of thought provoking materials and activities to use directly in the classroom. For primary and secondary practitioners, ITE providers and advisers. Cost: £190 (£160 ‘early bird’ rate).

“I am leaving with lots of ideas to try and reminders of the reasons why we need to do this – stepping back from the intensity of data and planning to think about the world our children are growing up into and how vital the global dimension is in their understanding.” SEAL and the Global Dimension participant, Primary School Teacher, Essex.

Global Learning through the Arts
(please contact us with expression of interest)

A whole day of creative and practical CPD for teachers, artists and all Arts practitioners. Using resources, case studies and input from inspiring local artists we will help you draw out global dimensions that make your practice and teaching of the arts real and relevant.  We will explore the opportunities for inspiring and encouraging global citizenship in your school through arts-based activities. During the workshop you will also have the opportunity to get stuck in and create your own “work of art”. .
